Validated Requirements
ENVIROPETS is validated by several statutory requirements
The ENVIROPETS is validated by several statutory requirements, and it meets needs of multiple services. With respect to the Army, the ENVIROPETS will assist in providing the 14-Day critical mission sustainment requirement as per Army Directive (AD) 2017-07. It will also provide a resource meeting the Army Guidance for Addressing Releases of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances. Meeting the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Instruction 4101.3A, the ENVIROPETS will additionally provide water resources as an environmentally friendly and sustainable technology. The ENVIROPETS will meet the water security and the Air FORCE PFOS/PFOA Snapshot provided by the Air Force Instruction (AFI) 90-1701 and AFI 32-1061.
The U.S. Congress (2019-2021) introduced several stand-alone PFAS legislations that encompassed four legislative focal areas: enhanced detection and research; new regulatory mandates; cleanup assistance; and ENVIROPETS Environmental Focus Group and exposure to PFAS contamination at or near military installations. In addition to meeting or providing a technology for the previously stated multiservice needs, the ENVIROPETS will be a technology that will assist the DoD with meeting these PFAS-specific legislations.
